Kiefer Sutherland, A man of many talents

When 24 first began on TV, I watched it because I thought it was an interesting concept. I never knew that I would get so worked up over Kiefer.  There are plenty of actors who are hot, but don’t have a lot of talent. Kiefer’s got it all. 

It’s really not surprising that he’s so talented; his father Donald Sutherland is a great actor also, though I think Kiefer has surpassed him.

Did you know he is a twin? Kiefer William Frederick Dempsey George Rufus Sutherland and his sister Rachael were born on December 21st, 1966 in London, England while his parents were working there. Kiefer is 7 minutes older.  They left London and moved to Los Angeles, but when his parents divorced Kiefer went to live with his mother in Toronto, Canada.

In 1983, he moved to NY to launch his acting career, but all he got were some commercials so he drove all the way back to California to be a movie star.  Which he did and boy am I glad.

He’s been married twice, first to Camelia Ortiz Kath and then to Kelly Winn. He and Kelly have filed for divorce, so maybe there’s some hope for me. He has one daughter, Sarah Jude. I wonder if she’ll become an actress also. It does seem to run in the family.

I found out that Kiefer is afraid of heights. Can you believe it? During an interview he said he had never been to the CN tower in Toronto because he’s afraid of heights. I was shocked when I heard that. It just goes to show what a great actor he is because his character isn’t afraid of anything. 

Kiefer isn’t afraid to get involved though, in fact in 2001 there was an online series called The Lonely Island being filmed in LA and they were filming a scene where 2 guys were mugging an old lady. Kiefer happened to be driving by the street and didn’t realize that it wasn’t real. He jumped out of his car to help. They got it on film and his name appears in the credits of the video. 

There are so many interesting things about Kiefer that make me love him. Besides being a great actor and extremely hot, he also owns a recording studio, has traveled with the rodeo circuit and won rodeos in Phoenix and Albuquerque. He even took first place in the US Team Roping Championships.

I really hope 24 lasts for a long time and I can’t wait to see Kiefer in more movies.
